Manual preparation of caramel popcorn in ordinary pots or improvised containers is one of the riskiest and most physically demanding gastronomic processes. If the staff is inattentive, the sugar mixture will burn within seconds, there is a risk of serious burns from boiling caramel, and the fragile popcorn will be crushed into worthless crumbs by careless mixing. At the same time, premium caramelized popcorn generates a high margin in the Fun Food segment with selling prices far exceeding ordinary salty popcorn.
The compact industrial caramelizer Gold Medal Caramel Baby Mixer (capacity 2.5 gallons / approx. 9.5 liters per batch) transforms this demanding discipline into a smooth, safe and fully controlled process. The device cooks the sugar mixture or icing in one kettle to a precisely set temperature and, after pouring in the finished popcorn, ensures its perfect, even coating with motorized blades. The operator only needs to follow the sound signal and then use the ergonomic tilting lever to pour the coated popcorn onto the cooling tray. The result is shiny, crispy and unbroken balls with an unbeatable taste.

Does this machine pop raw corn, or does it pop ready-made popcorn?
The Caramel Baby Mixer is a specialized caramelizer, icing cooker and wrapper. First, fat/water is poured into the machine and caramel mixture (sugar, Glaze Pop or Caramel Corn premix) is poured in. After melting and cooking to the desired temperature, pre-popped dry popcorn is poured into the kettle, which the mixer evenly coats.
What kind of popcorn is best suited for this caramelizer?
We definitely recommend using Mushroom popcorn (ball / Pop N Roll) . The spherical shape of the popcorn does not break when mixed with thick hot caramel, it is evenly coated with the topping on all sides and does not produce as much waste in the form of broken wings.
How do you clean burnt caramel residue from a kettle?
Cleaning is surprisingly easy: sugar and caramel naturally dissolve in water. Pour water into the still warm kettle, add a spoonful of special kettle cleaner and turn on the heat. The water and steam will loosen all deposits from the walls and the stirrer in a few minutes. Then simply pour out the solution and wipe the kettle dry with a clean cloth.
